Kammerstein, November 2010 – WILAmed GmbH, specialist for active respiratory gas humidification, introduces its new Respiratory Humidifier AIRcon which offers a complete solution with many innovative functions for all patient groups and applications.

The proprietary-developed Respiratory Humidifier AIRcon operates between the ventilator and the patient. It complements the function of the ventilator by warming and humidifying. In that way the patient is supplied with conditioned respiratory gas to avoid the dehydration of the mucous membrane as well as the limitation of the mucosciliary clearance, for instance. 

The user-optimized, intuitive menu navigation provides presetted parameters for invasive and non-invasive applications as well as adjustable parameters for an individual treatment. Thereby, the handling of the AIRcon is alleviated significantly. An intelligent alarm management steadies the usage of the respiratory humidifier, e.g. the auto-matic water level detection with integrated photo cells. All dysfunctions are illustrated in clear, comprehensible pictograms. Therefore, dysfunctions can be quickly indentified and easily solved. The “overboost-function” of the expiratory heated wire prevents any backflow of condenser water to the ventilator. Another new function of the AIRcon is the real-time event and alarm protocol that can be transmitted to a PC by an integrated port.
